About The Project:
NMC were looking to revamp their web presence and approached 4spots to design and develop a website that encapsulated its corporate philosophy. Not only did they want to communicate their brand identity to visitors and showcase their vehicles, but wanted to encourage customers to interact with the company more through interactive features .
About The Client:
Founded in 1988, National Motor Company (NMC) is one of the leading automotive distributors in Bahrain and represents Honda, Chevrolet, GMC, Cadillac, and Hummer. NMC is also part of the publicly listed Bahrain Commercial Facilities Company (BCFC), which owns Bahrain Credit, a leading financial institution of the island. The Company employs more than 500 employees and operates through four main outlets in Bahrain, including a ‘Drive-In’ service reception, located alongside the showrooms.
The Challenge:
With NMC being such a large automotive distributor, we had the challenge of presenting all their vehicles in a clear, easily navigatable design that would showcase not only the vehicles themselves but all their models, features and detailed specifications without putting undue focus on any one brand. Therefore it was extremely important to get the structure right so that users could easily browse through the automobiles and were provided with all the information they would need making a purchasing decision. It was also vital to build services on the site that allow users to interact with it, going beyond the basic functionalities required such as being able to book a test drive.
Solution:
In order to meet our goals we created a framework for the website that would allow automobiles of any brand/model to be showcased, giving not just basic information but detailed specifications formatted into clear easy-to-read tables.
We also created image galleries where multiple images were added for each vehicle from every angle, both for the interior and exterior. Users can therefore not only view all of NMC’s distributive products, but really get a feel for them on a more in-depth level.
The entire site was designed to provide a stunning and immersive visual experience that strengthened the NMC brand. Minute details like incorporating the texture of leather to elements on the site enhanced the brand and its presence.
By developing an accessory management module and a used car module, we also addressed the issue of interactivity. The used car module allows users to search for used cars with specific search filters, whether it is make, model or price, identifying all users’ needs that NMC may not be able to reach with the new models. Users also have the ability to enter their car information into a filter and view/request any additional accessories that can be purchased for it through the accessory management tool.
Therefore users who already own vehicles distributed through NMC can enjoy searching further options to enhance their cars.
